Since Left 4 Dead 2 is released... im gonna upgrade my server to L4D2 starting tonight.
Just put it through at GameServers.com and its mainly gonna be for Scavenge and Versus modes.

I would like to thank all the players from my server for playing there, i really hope they enjoyed it and will once more with L4D2.

It will take a while before i have server mods on it, since my mods wont add proper balance with L4D2's current toughness level.

Mod suggestions are always welcome.

People keep asking me if i can tell them how to play Versus alone, or to record demos etc, so i figured I'd make a post about it here.
I'll try to explain every command the best i can.

• hud_takesshots "1"

Makes the game take automatic screenshots after a round. These screenshots get saved in "Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead\left4dead\screenshots\"

• sv_search_max_ping "80"

Lets the client not connect to games with higher ping then input here.

• bind "KP_ENTER" "soloversus"
  alias "soloversus" "sv_cheats 1;mp_gamemode versus;director_force_versus_start;sb_all_bot_team 1;jointeam 3"

Makes you able to run a solo versus game.
You will have to restart the map or vote a new one to make the versus settings load properly. If you disable sv_cheats and you only have bots on the survivor team, the round will be automatically ended with you winning.

• bind "F8" "record l4demo-a"

Pressing F8 will record a file called l4demo-a.dem in your L4D Folder. You can replay this file in L4D by typing 'playdemo l4demo-a' in the console.
Please remember that demos will record persistently through the entire game.
You wont have to press it each round. The console will automatically add _1 through _5+ behind the demo name for each 2 rounds (inf and surv for each map). If you want to record more games, you will need to rename the demos first, or use a different 'playdemo' command. sadly L4D overwrites demos without checking and i haven't found a way yet to get them date coded.

This is my own version of their incremental demo recording system.
Mine is much less code and does practically the same.
F8 starts recording, F9 stops it.

Please keep in mind that incremental recording only works as long as you didn't restart your L4D, if you restart the game, the autoexec.cfg gets reloaded thus resetting the incrementation to A.

Command to record demos to video material. I personally use the TGA format to get a series of numbered images, instead of AVI or JPG. (JPG has known issues of giving wrong color)

• bind "KP_MINUS" "endmovie"

Command to stop the startmovie command

Removes the entire GUI for video making, INCLUDING THE +1's

These are my network based settings in my cfg... i'm not sure how to explain them, but they work for my internet.. see what it can do for you :)
I got these settings from some league players (mainly Surgical his podcasts) so i trust them to be right.

Now that i don't have my desktop around to entertain me and keep me buzy... i -ofcourse- get plenty of ideas to work on.

This one would be quite obvious i take it. Once i have my desktop back, i'll be back in the L4D gaming to kick ass and hopefully find a good team for once (unless my current team actually starts caring to train and play PCWs etc) so that i can make a new vid.

• Left 4 Dead Machinima

Nothing major about this, just to get used to the camera controls of the L4D drive function and to fool around a bit... not sure if i will ever release this and how long it might take if i do decide to release it.

• Brook Wanted Poster

Been meaning to do this one for a while now, so when i have my desktop back it will be one of the first things on my list to do. It is the only character i didnt do so far and its about time.

Had some more ideas which i currently cant recall... so feh who cares, but atleast you people have a bit to look forward to.
As usuall; Please dont hessitate to give me suggestions/ideas for new stuff to make. I often lack inspiration sadly.

On a side note, seems the page has reached over the 10000 (11506 at time of writing) visitors recently which i find quite amazing. thanks everyone that has shown interrest in my page, my creations and other stuff.

Well after 3 months... my Acer Aspire M5201 desktop felt it was needed to fail me.
Currently waiting for UPS to pick it up (will happen this Monday) so that Acer can fix it for me... not sure how long i will be without my desktop, but until that time I'm stuck with this crappy laptop that i had laying around.

Won't be able to do much in terms of gaming nor creating... joy to me ;_;

I'll just be hanging on IRC a bit here and there, watching some vidz and visiting friends... i might actually get a life for once o_O!
